The automobile industry is an important industry that supports the Japanese economy. Shonan Machinery has been heavily involved in this industry for many years, and has accumulated a wealth of experience in engineering, including the manufacture, modification, repair and maintenance of equipment for automobile manufacturing processes (pressing, welding, painting, assembly, inspection, etc.) and powertrain systems (engine, transmission, etc. processing and assembly).
One of our biggest features is the close partnership we have built with a global automobile manufacturer, using our skills and technology to support their various production facilities around the country. Our company has around 150 employees, but it is rare for an engineering company of this size to be a prime contractor with a major automobile manufacturer. This is due to the trust we have built over many years of business, and we hope to maintain this relationship in the future while expanding and contributing to other "manufacturing companies."

Since its establishment in 1937, Shonan Machinery is a company with 90 years of history and has a relationship with a major domestic manufacturer that spans for more than 70 years. As the Japanese automobile industry developed and the aforementioned company has built automobile manufacturing plants all over the country, we have also opened offices one after another, on or around their premises.
At the same time, we have supported the "manufacturing site" by building a system to quickly respond to customer needs regarding production equipment at each factory. In recent years, in line with the aforementioned company's global expansion, we have also expanded overseas and have established a new base in Mexico.
By responding to the various requests of our customers, we have accumulated many skills and technology related to automobile manufacturing. We have evolved into a company that can provide all-round engineering services required by automobile manufacturing plants, from the design and manufacture of new equipment to the modification, repair, and maintenance of existing equipment.

From Manual Work to Fully Automated, Achieving Precision and Aesthetics in Arc Welding

The side door of the dump truck bed is automatically opened by a robot, and after positioning by a servo cylinder, the robot performs arc welding. A process that was performed by workers has now been fully automated. This has made a major contribution to minimizing variations in quality, such as assembly precision and the finish of arc welding.

Produced and Installed a Booth for Spot Welding Car Body Parts using Robots.

Sparks fly during welding, so we cover the area with a transparent fireproof sheet.
The internal equipment is installed, then it is surrounded with fireproof sheets and equipped with air conditioning.

Repair and Maintenance of Forging Presses

The clutch disc is disassembled, serviced, reassembled, and checked for functionality.
Forging press: Manufactures parts by melting metal, pouring it into a mold, and letting it cool and solidify. Engine parts (connecting rods, gears, crankshafts, etc.)

Replacing the Motor of a Machine (Press Machine)

A removed motor is repaired and installed back in place.

Press machine: A machine that applies high pressure to metal sheets to form the outer panels and internal structural parts of the body.

Retap Inserter Production

Retaping machine: It plays a vital role in the precision machining and assembly of parts.
The tap (thread cutting tool) is inserted automatically, and threads are cut at the correct position.

Body Jig Production

This is a jig used when welding the lower parts of a car (doors and body).

Lifter: A device used to raise and lower heavy objects. Many lifters are used on factory lines to move parts and products up and down. They are important machines for improving efficiency and safety.

Automobiles have been produced using complex processes and facilities packed with the latest technology, and we have been involved in the maintenance of its equipment. We handle equipment related to all production processes and have the technical capabilities to freely produce and modify equipment to meet our customer's needs. We are also capable in designing and building production lines that incorporate industrial robots to automate assembly. Furthermore, to strengthen factory production capacity, we handle large-scale construction work to changes the layout of existing equipment, and the construction and relocation of new lines. We support automobile manufacturing as a multi-role player in production factories.
